AMD and Anthropic Partnership Overview

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) has committed to invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic, an AI company known for its Claude models, as of late July. This investment is subject to certain contingencies and is scheduled to be disbursed through fiscal 2028. Concurrently, Anthropic plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD’s Instinct MI450 GPUs, with the first gigawatt deployment expected to begin in the first half of 2027.

Anthropic aims to publish its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus following Labor Day, targeting a listing potentially in late September or early October. The company is reportedly valued close to $1 trillion in private markets, with projections suggesting a float valuation near $2 trillion. Anthropic’s annualized revenue run rate surged from $30 billion in April to over $65 billion by July, and it has raised significant funds since its inception.
