Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) announced the expansion of its AI Ryzen portfolio with the launch of the Ryzen AI 400 Series and Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series desktop processors at Mobile World Congress. These new processors, featuring high-performance “Zen 5” CPU cores and dedicated AMD XDNA 2 neural processing units (NPUs), provide up to 50 TOPS of AI compute, facilitating next-gen AI capabilities in PCs from OEMs like HP and Lenovo. Additionally, the Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 470 offers up to 30% faster multithreaded performance compared to Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358, with a high-performance NPU delivering up to 60 TOPS.

AMD expects growth in its Client and Gaming segment revenues, which increased by 51% year-over-year in 2025, though it anticipates a sequential decline in the first quarter of 2026 due to seasonal factors. The company’s shares have risen 104.4% over the past year, significantly outperforming the broader tech sector, and it currently holds a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) amid stiff competition from Apple and Intel in the AI PC market.
