SoundHound AI launched Amelia 7.0 on May 8, transitioning its voice AI from reactive systems to fully autonomous agents capable of multi-step tasks such as prescription reordering and password resets. The rollout is powered by the Agentic+ framework and integrates Polaris ASR, achieving 99% intent recognition accuracy and low latency.
In the first quarter of 2025, SoundHound’s revenue surged by 151% year over year to $29.1 million, supported by voice commerce growth. The company projects revenue of $157–177 million for 2025, backed by a pipeline worth record revenues and $246 million in cash with no debt. Despite a 52.1% stock decline year to date, SoundHound’s forward 12-month price-to-sales ratio stands at 20.65, above the industry average of 19.32.
Competition is intensifying as Microsoft and Alphabet leverage their existing platforms to dominate the agentic AI space. Microsoft’s Nuance unit focuses on healthcare automation, while Google’s Assistant is embedded in millions of devices, posing significant challenges to SoundHound’s market adoption.
