Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported a revenue of $181.5 billion for Q1 2026, showcasing a 17% year-over-year growth rate. In contrast, Shopify (NASDAQ: SHOP) reported $3.2 billion in revenue for the same period, marking a substantial 34% increase. Over the last eight quarters, both companies experienced notable seasonal fluctuations, peaking in Q4 each year.

As of Q4 2025, Amazon’s revenue reached $213.4 billion, while Shopify’s was $3.7 billion. Despite Shopify’s faster growth rate, Amazon’s total sales continue to dwarf those of Shopify, reflecting differing growth strategies. Amazon is investing heavily in AI infrastructure, recently issuing $25 billion in bonds for this purpose.
