Tesla, Inc. has increased the price of its newly launched Cybertruck AWD from $59,990 to $69,990, a 17% hike occurring just 10 days post-launch on February 19. The base model, initially aimed to attract buyers with its affordability, features dual motors and an estimated range of 325 miles. Despite delivering nearly 39,000 units in 2024, projected sales for 2025 are now just over 20,000 units, highlighting a significant shortfall compared to its annual production capacity of 125,000.
This price increase places the AWD model above the inflation-adjusted equivalent of Tesla’s original 2019 Dual Motor model, which was priced at approximately $64,000 today. This shift raises questions about whether the new price point might deter potential customers or sustain demand for the vehicle.
