Amazon’s AI Revenue Prediction

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has projected that the company’s cloud division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), could achieve $600 billion in annual revenue from artificial intelligence (AI) over the next decade, doubling his previous forecast. This projection, shared in an internal meeting, underscores Jassy’s confidence in the demand for AI technologies amidst concerns from investors regarding potential revenue shortfalls.

AWS currently has an annual revenue run rate of approximately $142 billion and accounts for 57% of Amazon’s total operating income. The company has committed $200 billion in capital expenditures to enhance its AI capabilities, emphasizing its strategic focus on AI as a significant growth driver for the future.

Amazon’s total revenue for the last fiscal year was $716 billion. Jassy’s insights reflect expectations that AI could transform AWS into a revenue powerhouse, potentially rivaling the size of Amazon’s entire business today.
