Anthropic’s valuation has more than doubled from $380 billion in February 2023, and it unveiled its latest AI model, Claude Opus 4.8, which is reported to outperform all other publicly available AI platforms. The company now has a revenue run rate of $47 billion as of October 2023.
Key investors Amazon and Alphabet stand to increase their stakes significantly, with Amazon’s previous investment expected to be valued over $100 billion after this funding round. Anthropic plans to allocate the raised funds towards enhancing its cloud computing capabilities and supporting the scale of its products through partnerships primarily with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
