Apple’s Financial Performance and Leadership Transition

Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) reported a revenue of $109.42 billion for Q3 2023, a 16.4% increase year-over-year, with iPhone sales contributing $54.25 billion and Services achieving a record $30.74 billion. The Services segment now represents 28.1% of total sales, growing by 12.1% and showcasing a gross margin of 76.5%. Net income for the quarter was $29.8 billion, marking a 27% increase.

John Ternus will take over as CEO on September 1, 2023, succeeding Tim Cook, who has been with the company for 25 years and oversaw an increase in market value of $3.6 trillion. Apple’s active device base has surpassed 2.5 billion, with paid subscriptions exceeding 1.5 billion, more than 50% above previous figures.

Looking ahead, Apple plans to launch several new products, including the anticipated iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone model, set for release in September. The company’s current market capitalization stands at approximately $4.67 trillion.
