Berkshire Hathaway’s AI Investments

Berkshire Hathaway, led by Greg Abel and Warren Buffett, has significantly invested in AI-related companies, with about 31% of its portfolio allocated to Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). Since the third quarter of 2025, Berkshire has accumulated nearly 106 million shares of Alphabet, raising its stake from 0% to just under 10% in under a year, amidst Google’s substantial capital expenditures projected between $195 billion and $205 billion for 2026.

Apple remains the largest holding, now comprising over 20% of Berkshire’s portfolio, though its P/E ratio has risen to 38. Despite trimming its position, Berkshire’s historical gains from Apple contribute significantly to its value, as the tech giant achieved a year-over-year revenue growth of 16% in the third quarter of fiscal 2026.

These strategic investments aim to capitalize on the emerging AI market, placing Berkshire in a favorable position to generate long-term returns while utilizing its cash reserves, which total approximately $366 billion.
