As of December 31, 2025, Ackman holds approximately 9.6 million shares of Amazon.
Bill Ackman, the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, has completely exited his investment in Chipotle Mexican Grill, selling off 21,541,177 shares by December 31, 2025. This decision follows a significant increase in Chipotle’s share price, which has more than quadrupled since September 30, 2016. However, comparable restaurant sales fell by 1.7% in 2025, raising concerns about the company’s operating performance amidst rising inflation.
In contrast, Ackman has significantly increased his stake in Amazon, acquiring an additional 3,784,508 shares in the fourth quarter of 2025, bringing his total to over 9.6 million shares. This positions Amazon as his third-largest holding. Amazon accounted for 37.6% of U.S. retail e-commerce in 2024, with its revenue primarily driven by its cloud services, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
