Amazon’s market capitalization grew from $835 billion at the release of ChatGPT on November 30, 2022, to approximately $2.3 trillion as of now. This growth is largely attributed to the company’s investments in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly through its cloud computing segment, Amazon Web Services (AWS), which has partnered with AI startup Anthropic.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman recently initiated a stake in Amazon through his firm, Pershing Square Capital Management. Despite a 1% decline in Amazon’s stock year-to-date as of June 11, the shares rebounded from a low of around $167 in April. Analysts speculate that Ackman capitalized on this dip.

Amazon has developed custom chipsets for AI applications, enhancing its competitiveness in the semiconductor market and potentially positioning the company to achieve a market valuation of $5 trillion.
