Bill Ackman’s Major Investment in Meta Platforms
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has taken a significant position in Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META), investing approximately $1.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2023, making it his fifth-largest holdings. Ackman described Meta as “deeply discounted” and praised its strong balance sheet, which supports aggressive investments in artificial intelligence (AI) and infrastructure.
In Q4, Meta reported a 24% revenue growth, driven by an 18% increase in ad impressions and a 6% rise in ad prices, while daily active users reached 3.58 billion, a 7% year-over-year increase. The company anticipates continued revenue growth in the first quarter of 2024, projecting an increase of 26% to 34% as it expands advertising on platforms like WhatsApp, which has over 3 billion monthly users.
