Stanley Druckenmiller’s Q2 Moves in Chip Stocks

Stanley Druckenmiller, former CEO of Duquesne Capital Management, recently overhauled his investment portfolio in the second quarter of 2023. Notably, he completely exited positions in Broadcom (1.8% of his portfolio), Intel (0.5%), and Micron Technology (0.2%), signaling a strategic shift as he opened a new position in Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), purchasing 72,900 shares to represent 0.8% of his portfolio.

Druckenmiller oversees $5.2 billion in 13F securities at the Duquesne Family Office, wherein investment managers with over $100 million must report their portfolio changes quarterly to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Analyzing AMD’s position in the booming AI sector, with revenues from data centers significantly lower than Nvidia’s, suggests Druckenmiller anticipates growth potential as demand for CPUs rises.
