Jeff Bezos Invests $10 Billion in Blue Origin
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, has committed $10 billion in financing to his space venture, Blue Origin, which has previously relied solely on his personal investments. This funding round, set to take place by May 2026, will include Bezos doubling his contributions to $2 billion annually and involve investments from hedge fund Coatue Management and other major investors, valuing Blue Origin at approximately $130 billion.
Blue Origin aims to use this capital for various projects, including a $4.8 billion capital investment this year to rebuild its launch pad at Cape Canaveral and develop a constellation of broadband satellites costing around $10 billion. The company, which reported only $26.4 million in annual revenue, seeks liquidity to support its ambitions, raising speculation about a potential IPO.
