Tesla Stock Update
Tesla’s stock (NASDAQ: TSLA) has fluctuated significantly, reaching a peak of approximately $400 per share in 2021, dropping to nearly $100 in 2023, and then rising above $400 again in 2025, before declining to around $350 per share. This has led to a current market cap of approximately $1.1 trillion. Ark Invest, led by Cathie Wood, maintains a strong position in Tesla with a valuation of $1 billion and a long-term price target of $4,600 per share.
Ark Invest believes Tesla is poised to become a leading player in the autonomous taxi market, estimating the global opportunity could be between $8 trillion to $10 trillion. The firm predicts Tesla’s robotaxi operations could significantly contribute to its stock valuation, accounting for 90% of its price forecast. Goldman Sachs estimates that Tesla’s production costs for its Cybercab could be $20,000 to $30,000, compared to competitors’ costs between $50,000 and $100,000, providing a potential cost advantage for the company.
Despite optimism around Tesla’s future, some analysts, including Wood, acknowledge that the timeline for robotaxi growth may be extended, with large-scale implementation now predicted around 2030.
