Cattle Prices Continue to Rise into Thursday

**Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle Market Update**

On Thursday, live cattle futures experienced gains ranging from 90 cents to $1.37, with June futures reporting no deliveries. The Fed Cattle Exchange auction for 952 head yielded a single bid of $255 but recorded no sales. Feeder cattle futures saw substantial increases, rising by $3.50 to $3.60.

In the export sector, the weekly report indicated 19,032 metric tons (MT) of beef were sold for 2026 in the week ending June 4, marking a notable third-largest sale for the year. USDA’s federally inspected cattle slaughter on Wednesday totaled 105,000 head, with a weekly count of 316,000, down 4,000 from the previous week and 24,480 below last year’s figures. Wholesale boxed beef prices displayed mixed results, with Choice boxes up $1.59 to $394.88, while Select boxes decreased by 41 cents to $375.30.
