Celebrating a Successful Corn Harvest This Thursday

Corn futures ended Thursday trading with gains, as contracts increased by 1 ¼ to 2 ¼ cents, closing near intraday highs. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price rose by 1 ½ cents to $4.09 ¾.

The USDA reported export sales data indicating 116,740 MT of corn for the 2025/26 marketing year, marking a year-low and a 31.5% decrease from the same week last year. Key buyers included South Korea with 86,100 MT and Colombia with 84,300 MT. Sales for 2026/27 reached 1.027 MMT, slightly below last week’s MY high but above expectations of 0.7-1.2 MMT. Notably, 490,400 MT was sold to unknown destinations, with 151,500 MT to Mexico and 151,000 MT to South Korea.

In Brazil, corn exports for July totaled 1.943 MMT, surpassing the previous month but down 21.16% year-over-year. ANEC projects August exports at 4.08 MMT, a decline of 3.26 MMT from last year, if realized.
