Anthropic Unveils Claude Mythos AI, Identifies Thousands of Vulnerabilities
AI start-up Anthropic announced the launch of its latest model, Claude Mythos Preview, which has already identified thousands of zero-day vulnerabilities in critical operating systems and software. This development prompted a coalition of major tech and cybersecurity companies, including Nvidia, Amazon Web Services, Google, Microsoft, and Palo Alto Networks, to collaborate on addressing these vulnerabilities through an initiative called Project Glasswing.
Founded on the urgent need for improved cybersecurity, Project Glasswing aims to protect critical infrastructure against AI-powered attacks. Anthropic is supporting this initiative with $100 million in usage credits and has raised $4 million in donations for open-source security organizations. The coalitions’ efforts highlight the increasing importance of AI in cybersecurity, as every major operating system and web browser is affected by the vulnerabilities identified by Mythos Preview.
