As of today, December arabica coffee (KCZ26) has increased by 2.21% to $6.30, while November ICE robusta coffee (RMX26) is up 0.88% or $31. This recovery follows a three-week selloff that had driven coffee prices into oversold territory.

Brazil’s total coffee exports reached a record high of 4.155 million bags in August, a 31% year-over-year increase. Arabica exports rose by 26% to 2.87 million bags, and robusta exports surged by 54% to 953,592 bags. The International Coffee Organization (ICO) also projected a record global coffee production of 183.6 million bags for 2025/26, exceeding consumption of 180.6 million bags and resulting in a surplus of 3 million bags.

Falling inventories supported arabica prices, with ICE arabica coffee stocks declining to a 27-year low of 217,932 bags, while robusta inventories increased to a 9.5-month high of 5,043 lots. Concerns about the El Niño weather pattern potentially impacting Brazil’s 2026/27 coffee crop have also been noted, with the U.S. Climate Prediction Center warning of significant weather fluctuations during critical growing months.
