Coffee Prices Experience Slight Recovery Following Recent Lows

On June 9, July arabica coffee closed at $347.70 per pound, increasing by 0.55%, while July ICE robusta coffee ended at $443.37 per pound, up 0.93%. Arabica prices hit a two-week low before rebounding due to pre-weekend short covering, while robusta prices reached a seven-month low before also recovering.

Brazil’s Cooxupe coffee co-op reported that the coffee harvest is 13.7% complete as of June 6, matching last year’s progress. Meanwhile, Safras & Mercado noted that the 2025/26 coffee harvest is 35% complete, slightly behind last year’s 37%, and overall coffee production is projected to increase with Brazil’s output expected to rise by 0.5% to 65 million bags and Vietnam’s by 6.9% to 31 million bags.

Robusta coffee inventories monitored by ICE fell to a one-month low of 5,177 lots. Additionally, Brazil’s coffee exports for May fell by 36% year-over-year to 2.8 million bags, while Vietnam’s coffee production is projected to decline by 20% in the 2023/24 crop year, further impacting prices.
