SLB N.V. has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qualcomm Technologies to develop edge artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the energy sector. This collaboration aims to enhance real-time operational performance across wells and production systems, focusing on areas with limited connectivity. The partnership underscores the increase in automation and autonomous workflows expected among energy operators.

In related news, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices are currently trading above $85 per barrel, benefiting upstream players such as Vista Energy, S.A.B. de C.V. (VIST), YPF Sociedad Anónima (YPF), and Ecopetrol S.A. (EC). Vista Energy reported total production of 134,741 barrels of oil equivalent per day (Boe/d) in Q1 2026, a 67% year-over-year increase, and raised its full-year guidance from 140,000 Boe/d to 143,000 Boe/d. Ecopetrol projects production between 730,000 and 740,000 MBoe/d by 2026, aiming for sustained output levels through 2040.
