Intel and AMD Report Strong Growth in AI and Server CPUs
Intel reported a 59% year-over-year increase in its data center and AI segment revenue, reaching $6.3 billion in Q2 2026, while AMD’s data center revenue is projected to grow by 46% year-over-year to $11.2 billion in the same quarter. Intel’s Xeon 6 server CPUs are among its fastest-ramping products, indicating an overall strong demand for server CPUs, which grew at a record pace in Q2.
AMD holds a 46% revenue share of the server CPU market, with expectations that the market will generate $220 billion in revenue by 2030. Analysts forecast Intel’s earnings per share to jump by 264% year-over-year in 2026, while AMD is projected to see a 79% increase in the same period. Both companies continue to expand their market influence in the AI chip sector, with Intel also focusing on custom AI processors.
Due to its attractive valuation and faster growth potential, analysts suggest Intel may be a stronger investment option compared to AMD in the coming years.
