Intel Corporation (INTC) and Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) are competing aggressively in the AI-powered PC processor market, challenging each other with advanced semiconductor technologies. Intel is focusing on AI chips for data centers and PCs in what it describes as a significant shift in its 40-year architecture, while Qualcomm is expanding its Snapdragon X lineup into the PC space, targeting low-power and high-performance chip designs.
Intel expects its sales for 2026 to grow by 17.5%, with earnings per share (EPS) anticipated to surge by 250%. By contrast, Qualcomm’s projected sales for fiscal 2026 indicate a decline of 2.8%, with EPS expected to fall by 12.1%. Over the past year, Intel’s stock has surged 339.7%, vastly outperforming Qualcomm’s 3.9% gain.
Currently, Intel holds a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold), while Qualcomm has a Zacks Rank of #4 (Sell). Given its better outlook and stock performance, Intel appears to be the more favorable investment option at this time.
