NVIDIA announced the establishment of the NVIDIA Accelerated Quantum Research Center (NVAQC) in Boston in March 2025. This initiative aims to integrate quantum hardware from partners such as Quantinuum, QuEra, and Quantum Machines with NVIDIA’s AI supercomputers to address critical challenges in quantum computing, including qubit noise and hybrid algorithms. Additionally, the newly unveiled ABCI-Q supercomputer supports hybrid quantum-GPU workloads, enabling complex quantum-classical workloads.

In response, D-Wave has launched its Advantage2 system, featuring over 4,400 qubits, and developed a quantum AI toolkit integrated with PyTorch, focusing on real-world applications. The company plans to collaborate with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for advanced cryogenic packaging, which will support the development of processors with up to 100,000 qubits. Year to date, D-Wave’s shares have surged 126%, while NVIDIA’s gained 30.3%.

NVIDIA is trading at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 17.39, considerably lower than D-Wave’s 187.63. Both stocks are currently rated Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), with analysts suggesting NVIDIA may be the steadier long-term investment.
