Comparing QUBT and RGTI: Which Quantum Stock Should You Choose?

Quantum Computing Inc. (QUBT) and Rigetti Computing (RGTI), both focused on quantum hardware development, are seeing significant growth potential in the quantum computing market, projected to reach $17.89 billion by 2034. QUBT’s recent advancements include installing the Dirac-3 system for enterprise applications, while Rigetti has signed a letter of intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce for up to $100 million to boost superconducting quantum R&D.

In the stock market, QUBT shares have risen 8.1% and RGTI’s shares have gained 9.7% over the past month. However, QUBT reported a substantial operating expense of $21.8 million—more than 3.5 times its revenue—while Rigetti’s second-quarter operating loss widened to $28.1 million, with operating expenses totaling $30.3 million. Analysts project QUBT will report a loss of 18 cents per share for 2026, while RGTI expects a loss of 19 cents per share, showing a significant improvement from previous figures.

Investors remain cautious, with QUBT holding a Zacks Rank of #3 (Hold) and RGTI at #5 (Strong Sell), indicating greater near-term risks for Rigetti despite both stocks having shown recent gains.
