Key Facts on Data Center Industry Growth and Fluor’s Role
Global data center spending is projected to reach $4 trillion by 2030, up from $1 trillion last year. Fluor Corporation, a notable player in construction with over 100 years of experience, recently signed a significant agreement with TeraWulf to develop a 480-megawatt data center in Kentucky, estimated to cost between $3 billion and $4 billion.
Despite facing a $51 million net loss in 2025, Fluor’s urban solutions segment, which includes data center projects, constituted over 59% of its revenue for that year. CEO Jim Breuer has expressed continued interest in this sector, highlighting ongoing negotiations for large-scale projects in both the U.S. and Europe.
As companies increasingly invest in data center infrastructure to support AI developments, Fluor remains a viable investment option, with a backlog of $25.5 billion at the end of 2025 indicating strong future potential.
