CoreWeave, Inc. (CRWV) is investing $6 billion to construct a new AI data center in Lancaster, PA, designed for advanced AI workloads. The facility will have an initial capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) with potential scalability up to 300MW, positioning it as a key player in the AI sector in the Mid-Atlantic region. This new center is part of CoreWeave’s expansion, which includes 33 AI-focused data centers across the U.S. and Europe, supported by 420MW of active power.

CoreWeave reported a strong backlog of $25.9 billion, driven by partnerships and agreements, including an $11.9 billion deal with OpenAI. The company anticipates capital expenditures (capex) of $20 billion to $23 billion for 2025, amidst concerns about rising costs and macroeconomic factors. In this burgeoning market, AI is expected to have a global economic impact of $20 trillion by 2030, with a total addressable market reaching $400 billion by 2028.
