Corn futures are experiencing gains of 7 to 8 cents across most contracts as of Monday, with the CmdtyView national average cash price rising by 9 cents to $4.19 1/4. This follows a report stating corn export shipments of 1.885 MMT (74.2 mbu) for the week ending July 30, up 22.92% from the previous week and 45.44% from the same week last year. Major destinations included Mexico (490,997 MT), South Korea (351,654 MT), and Colombia (271,599 MT).
The total export for the marketing year now stands at 77.27 MMT (3.04 bbu), which is 25.35% higher compared to the same period last year. Additionally, CFTC data from last week indicates that managed money increased their net long positions in corn futures and options by 75,490 contracts, bringing the total to 168,399 contracts as of Tuesday. In Brazil, the second crop corn is 69% harvested, with estimates showing a total production of 110.5 MMT for 2025/26, while StoneX adjusted their figures to 110.7 MMT.
