Corn futures experienced a slight correction on Tuesday, with July contracts falling by 1¾ cents to close at $4.75¼. The national average cash corn price decreased by 1½ cents to $4.35.
As of Sunday, the U.S. corn crop reached 76% planting, surpassing the five-year average of 70%. The crop is also 39% emerged, which is 2 percentage points above the normal pace. Kansas, Michigan, and North Carolina are the only states lagging in planting progress.
Additionally, South Korean importers secured a total of 135,000 metric tons of corn in recent tenders.
