Corn futures experienced a decline on January 1, 2026, with March contracts down 12.5 cents, closing at $4.37 1/2. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price increased by 2.5 cents to $3.98 1/4.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 132,000 metric tons of corn to South Korea, while traders anticipate between 0.7 and 1.5 million metric tons in corn bookings for the week of December 25. Additionally, a USDA monthly report indicated that 471.87 million bushels of corn were used in ethanol production in November, slightly up year-over-year but 0.7% lower than the previous month.
Further, USDA announced that the corn payment under the Farm Bridge Assistance program stands at $44.36 per acre.
