Corn Market Faces Decline Ahead of the Long Weekend

Corn futures fell by 5 to 6.5 cents on Thursday, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price declining to $3.84 1/2. The market operates today ahead of a holiday closure for Juneteenth on Friday.

The USDA announced a private export sale of 285,775 metric tons of corn to Mexico for new crop shipments. Additionally, the weekly USDA Export Sales report indicated 1.157 million tons of corn sold during the week of June 11, marking a 4-week high and a 28% increase compared to the same week last year.

The forecast from NOAA predicts heavy rainfall across the Western Corn Belt over the next week, affecting regions in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri.
