Corn Market Struggles on Monday

Corn futures are experiencing midday losses of 2 to 3 cents, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price at $3.94 ¼, down 2 ½ cents. For the week ending February 5, US corn shipments reached 1.308 million metric tons (MMT), a 14.01% increase from the previous week, but down 4.19% from the same week last year. The top export destination was Mexico, receiving 476,628 metric tons.

On February 7, the USDA’s World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report is anticipated, with traders expecting no significant changes to the US ending stocks, projected at 2.215 billion bushels. In Brazil, the first corn crop is 15% harvested, slightly trailing last year’s pace of 19%, while the second crop planting is at 22%, ahead of the 20% from 2025.

As of now, March corn is priced at $4.27 ¾, May is at $4.36, and July is at $4.42 ¼, all reflecting minor declines.
