Corn futures showed losses of 3 to 4 cents on Friday, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price at $4.23, down 3.75 cents. As of Thursday, the marketing year corn export commitments reached 67.658 million metric tons (MMT), 30% higher than last year’s figures, accounting for 81% of the USDA’s export projection. Shipments totaled 43.46 MMT, representing 52% of the USDA’s target and exceeding the 45% average pace.
Additionally, the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange reported that Argentina’s corn harvest is currently 13% complete. The May 26 corn price stands at $4.66, with nearby cash at $4.23, July futures at $4.76.25, and December futures at $4.90.5.
