Corn Prices Dip Midweek

Corn futures are down 3 to 4 cents as of Wednesday, with the CmdtyView national average cash corn price at $4.14 1/4, a decrease of 3 3/4 cents. As of Sunday, the U.S. corn crop is reported at 86% planted, surpassing the 5-year average of 83%, with 60% of the crop emerged, 2 percentage points faster than normal. States lagging in planting include Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Additionally, South Korean importers made private deals to purchase a total of 130,000 metric tons of corn. Current futures prices include July corn at $4.53 3/4, September at $4.61 1/4, and December at $4.79, each reflecting minor decreases.
