Corn Prices Rise at Monday’s Midday Update

Corn futures are trading higher, with contracts up 3 to 5 cents on Monday. The national average Cash Corn price rose 4 3/4 cents to $4.16 1/2.

According to USDA’s FGIS, corn export shipments totaled 1.669 million metric tons (65.7 million bushels) for the week ending April 16, marking a 2.89% increase from the previous week but a 3.33% decrease year-over-year. Mexico received the largest share at 507,053 metric tons, followed by Japan with 352,667 metric tons and South Korea with 277,579 metric tons. Cumulative marketing year exports for 2025/26 amount to 51.71 million metric tons (2.036 billion bushels), up 31.79% from the same period last year.

In the week ending April 14, managed money reduced their net long position by 59,149 contracts, bringing the total to 159,483 contracts of futures and options.
