Corn futures gained between 1 and 3.75 cents on Friday, with March options expiring today. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price increased by 1.75 cents to $3.94 1/4. In the ongoing Crop Insurance price discovery, the average December corn closing price is $4.60, down 10 cents from the same period last year.
Export Sales data from the week of February 12 shows old crop corn sales at 1.47 million metric tons (MMT), which is within the 0.6 to 2.2 MMT estimates and 1.1% above sales during the same week last year. Additionally, a South Korean importer purchased a total of 132,000 MT in a recent tender.
