Corn Prices Surge on Black Friday Amid Robust Export Demand

Corn futures are experiencing midday Black Friday gains of 2 to 5 cents, with December futures’ first notice day resulting in 80 deliveries issued by an ADM customer. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price rose by 8 ¼ cents to $4.12.

On October 23, USDA reported a private export sale of 273,988 metric tons (MT) of corn to unknown destinations. For the week ending October 16, total corn sales reached 3.394 million MT, exceeding estimates and marking the largest sales in a year, with total export commitments up 42.9% from last year at 33.56 million MT.

As of today, December corn is priced at $4.36 ½, up 4 ¾ cents, and nearby cash corn is at $4.12, increased by 8 ¼ cents.
