Corn futures gained 4 to 5 cents in most contracts on Thursday, with the July contract reaching $4.11 and the nearby cash price at $3.83. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price increased by 4.5 cents.
In the USDA’s Export Sales report for the week ending June 18, old crop corn sales were recorded at 743,097 metric tons (MT), a 6-week low but slightly above last year. New crop sales were notably higher at 735,862 MT, more than double last year’s figures, bringing total accumulated sales for 2026/27 to 5.379 million MT, a 49.7% increase year-over-year.
The International Grains Council reported a 10 million MT increase in world corn output for 2026/27, with stocks rising to 298 million MT, up 7 million MT from previous estimates.
