Cotton futures increased on January 13, 2023, with contracts rising between 5 to 11 points. The January online auction reported cotton sales at 60.08 cents per pound for 14,042 bales. The Cotlook A Index rose by 55 points, reaching 75 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 11,029 bales.
Additionally, the Adjusted World Price updated to 50.97 cents per pound, marking an increase of 21 points from the previous week. In terms of specific contracts, Mar 26 cotton closed at 64.99 cents (up 11 points), May 26 cotton at 66.5 cents (up 9 points), and Jul 26 cotton at 67.91 cents (up 5 points). Meanwhile, crude oil futures decreased by 10 cents to $61.05 per barrel, and the US dollar index fell by $0.044 to 98.865.
