Cotton Prices Continue to Rise on Tuesday Morning

On Tuesday morning, cotton prices increased by 12 to 34 points following a range of 22 to 79 points in most contracts on Monday. The US dollar index fell by $0.025 to $99.830, while crude oil gained $1.06, reaching $112.60.

According to Crop Progress data released today, 5% of the US cotton crop was planted as of Sunday, matching the five-year average and surpassing last year’s figure by 1%. Additionally, The Seam reported 651 bales sold on Thursday at an average of 63.37 cents per pound, with ICE certified cotton stocks down 1,424 bales, totaling 113,241 bales as of April 2.

For contracts, May 2026 cotton closed at 71.67 cents (up 75 points), July 2026 at 73.84 cents (up 79 points), and December 2026 at 75.75 cents (up 77 points).
