Cotton Market Aiming for Gains on Thursday Morning

Cotton prices increased by 15 to 22 points on Thursday morning, recovering from a loss of 11 points in the front months on Wednesday. The December 2 online auction reported the sale of 15,688 bales at an average price of 61.31 cents per pound.

Crude oil futures rose by 37 cents per barrel, reaching $59.01, while the US dollar index decreased by $0.476 to 98.820. The Cotlook A Index fell by 10 points to 74.95 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 19,894 bales as of December 2.

The Adjusted World Price was updated to 50.77 cents per pound last week, a decrease of 3 points from the prior week, with another update expected on Thursday.
