Cotton futures experienced a decline of 8 to 22 points in the front months as of August 3, with notable prices including Oct 26 Cotton closing at 81.13 cents per pound, down 22 points. The Monday Crop Progress report indicated that cotton condition ratings fell to 42% good/excellent, a decrease of 4 percentage points from the previous week, with the Brugler500 index down 11 points to 325.
In export news, June shipments of cotton, excluding linters, totaled 1.245 million bales, marking a four-month low yet still a four-year high. Additionally, the Cotlook A Index rose by 95 points to 90.80 cents and ICE certified cotton stocks dropped by 1,235 bales, now standing at 86,371 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 84 points to 64.66 cents per pound.
