Cotton futures have experienced mixed trading, with July contracts closing at 81.8 cents, down 53 points, while December contracts ended at 83.13 cents, down 3 points. The March 2027 contract saw a slight rise, closing at 83.93 cents, up 3 points. On May 19, the Cotlook A Index increased by 300 points to 90.65 cents, while ICE certified cotton stocks rose by 10,053 bales, totaling 203,491 bales as of May 18.
The US dollar index rose by $0.211 to $99.055, while crude oil prices fell by $6.27 amid ongoing US-Iran negotiations reportedly in final stages. Additionally, the Adjusted World Price for cotton rose by 228 points, reaching 71.87 cents per pound.
