Cotton Market Trends Shifts Before the Weekend

On Friday morning, cotton prices fell by 104 to 141 points. This follows a Thursday where futures saw stronger performance across most months, with contracts ranging from 10 to 74 points higher, while October slipped by 3 points. The Cotlook A Index rose by 160 points to 89.60 cents, with ICE certified cotton stocks remaining unchanged at 94,235 bales as of July 22.

For the week ending July 16, export sales data revealed that 51,287 RB of cotton was sold for the 2025/26 marketing year, marking an increase from a previous low, with China as the top buyer at 15,500 RB. Meanwhile, total shipments reached 276,313 RB, led by Vietnam, which received 96,300 RB. The Adjusted World Price was decreased by 155 points to 63.82 cents/lb.

Weather forecasts from NOAA indicate limited precipitation across much of Texas and the southeastern U.S. over the next week.
