Cotton Prices Climb Back in the Afternoon Session

Cotton futures showed gains on Tuesday, with May 2026 contracts closing at 67.62 cents per pound, up 44 points, while July 2026 and December 2026 contracts increased by 46 and 44 points respectively. The US dollar index rose by $0.310 to reach $99.035. Crude oil prices saw a slight increase of 26 cents amid reports of a potential one-month ceasefire in the Middle East conflict.

On March 23, The Seam reported sales of 4,911 bales averaging 66.47 cents per pound. Meanwhile, the Cotlook A Index decreased by 40 points to 77.85 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 115,640 bales as of the same date. The Adjusted World Price was raised by 2.72 cents to 54.22 cents per pound on March 23.
