Cotton Prices Climb Midday

Cotton futures showed midday gains on March 23, with May contracts trading at 67.52 cents/lb, up 34 points, and July contracts at 69.65 cents/lb, also up 34 points. Additionally, December contracts increased by 32 points to 72.16 cents/lb.

The Seam reported sales of 4,911 bales, averaging 66.47 cents/lb. The Adjusted World Price rose by 2.72 cents to 54.22 cents/lb. Meanwhile, ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 115,640 bales as of March 23.

Crude oil prices increased by $5.09, while the US dollar index climbed $0.685 to reach 99.410. The Cotlook A Index fell to 77.85 cents, down 40 points from the previous week.
