Cotton Prices Decline on Friday

Cotton futures experienced losses on Friday, with prices falling 57 to 73 points at midday. The March 25 Cotton price is at 72.89 cents per pound, while May 25 and July 25 Cotton stand at 74.39 and 75.41 cents per pound, respectively. Simultaneously, crude oil saw a slight increase, rising by $1.44 per barrel.

In terms of export data, weekly commitments reached 5.474 million running bales, which is only 51% of the USDA’s export projection. The average price for 570 bales sold online on October 24 was 71.25 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged at 174 certified bales, with the Cotlook A Index rising 45 points to 84.25 cents per pound. The USDA Adjusted World Price increased by 4 points to 59.28 cents per pound.
