Cotton Prices Decline on Monday

Cotton futures fell by 90 to 102 points on March 26, with the front-month contracts closing at 62.59 cents for March, 64.59 cents for May, and 66.41 cents for July. This decline occurred amidst rising crude oil prices, which increased by $4.01 following recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran, and a stronger US dollar, climbing to 98.505.

In terms of cotton sales, The Seam reported the sale of 3,011 bales on February 27 at an average price of 62.83 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index decreased by 80 points to 75.65 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks rose by 6,721 bales on February 26, bringing the total to 126,178 bales. Additionally, the Adjusted World Price increased by 1.79 cents to 51.84 cents per pound last week.
