Cotton Prices Decline on Thursday

Cotton prices fell by 30 to 35 points midday, while crude oil futures increased by 83 cents per barrel to $59.79. As of October 30, export sales for upland cotton reached a marketing year low of 81,530 RB, with shipments at 146,581 RB, marking a three-week low.

During the online auction on December 3, The Seam reported sales of 10,758 bales at an average price of 59.66 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index decreased by 15 points to 74.80 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks remained steady at 19,894 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated to 50.77 cents/lb, down three points from the previous week.

Current cotton futures prices are: Dec 25 Cotton at 62.66 (down 11 points), Mar 26 Cotton at 64.14 (down 32 points), and May 26 Cotton at 65.26 (down 34 points).
