Cotton Prices End Week Unevenly

Cotton futures closed on Thursday with May contracts up 16 points at 70.92 cents per pound, following a weekly increase of 146 points. Export sales data revealed that 371,475 running bales (RB) of 2025/26 cotton were sold in the week ending March 26, marking a six-week high and well above last year’s figures. Notable purchases included 175,500 RB by Vietnam and 59,400 RB by Turkey. In total, shipments reached 356,663 RB, with Vietnam as the leading destination at 104,100 RB.

February’s cotton exports, excluding linters, were reported at 1.072 million bales, the lowest for that month in a decade, although 15.51% higher than January. On April 1, 2,488 bales sold at an average of 63.03 cents per pound, while ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 114,665 bales. The Adjusted World Price increased by 252 points to 56.99 cents per pound.
